Downtime
Siorrys for the downtimez.

Issues with server security forced me to shutdown website and move to another server. Site is back up an running~ though there will be a short (30-min) downtime sometime today or tomorrow for some new patches.

New Year Anti-Updates

Yarr, it be a new year.
People still be registering on this site, postin' yer stuff. It's all goooood..... buuutttt......

Flyffemu is closed, and has been closed for OVER A F*KIN YEAR! If you haven't noticed. I've been sitting on the sidelines watching people go nuts over this, so I'll finally tell you guys what be goin' on.

FlyFF Emu Project
Flyffemu was a project that emulated the flyff servers (with Japanese client translated to English) and allowed people to play, etc. in a protected environment. There were many revisions, including three complete rewrite-this-from-scratch-again moments. The last thing added to the server was NPC's. The latest version had no support for parties, quests, or guilds (without admin intervening).

Other FlyFF Server Projects
During this time, there were other groups or individuals who attempted to create fake private servers. WE WARNED YOU that the other groups all had malicious intentions of infecting your computer with keyloggers or other trojans and getting your passwords, etc. It has been confirmed time and time again, even with the servers that actually let you log in and do stuff, yet people still went to those other sites. Let me give you a hint, when your antivirus identifies something as a virus, and the author says "Ignore it, it's a false positive" do you always believe him? Flyffemu was, and still remains, the only virus & keylogger-free p.server & client.

So, DEAD?
Yessir. A good amount of time into the project, we all came to the conclusion that it would be a lot easier, and produce better results, if we were to just make our own game from scratch. This way, we would have complete control over the game, not just the parts that the original authors left editable or hackable. There were too many bonuses for creating our own game, and practically no advantages of creating a p.server. Best of all, it's legal and we could make money from it. We held a vote, and it was unanimous that we stop with this project and make our own game. So, we did it. The entire time we left the old website up and set up private means of communication.

Where's the new game?
It's still under development, and we will make official announcements about it in 2011. It is indeed a real game, with a much larger budget than any p.server project would allow us. We're talking 6-figure bank accounts I love looking at them! I can't say the name of the game here, (We're still using a beta name anyway) and we won't tie the game with this project, unless someone in the staff slips a tip about it in an interview. *wink, wink*

Who are you, Daniel?
I've been the community manager for the FlyFF Emu project since it's creation. I speak on behalf of the community staff here at this website, and the developers. My job is to mainly keep this place neat and tidy, manage forum and GM staff, manage events, etc. I've had little involvement in the development of the server, and do not hide my identity. In fact, I've been compliant with requests from gala-net a few times. They really do lurk here, haha. Some people there know who I really am

So, who are you, Snoob?
Snoob is the anonymous account created for ALL of the devs. All developers share that account in order to post or make announcements to keep their identities private yet still be able to keep in touch with the community website.

Who's Aoi?
I stopped being active on the website, so I appointed one of the other people to take over for me and keep the site alive while I went on to other things. She was active for a week, maybe two, but then she had to take care of other things~ SHE HAVING A BABY~ Site's been community-managerless for a while.

Baby?
Yeah, turns out we're not all 13-year old kiddies like you thought after all. Aoi is 23, Daniel is 21, Kage is 18, Devs are between 18 and 22.
Daniel: Professional game and server application developer: has degree in game design & simulation programming.
Aoi: --Wants to keep personal life private---
Developers: Some have degrees in game development. All have professional, real-world experience in their field depending on their position (be it programming, database administration, networking, graphics, etc.)

Let me make this clear
Let me make this perfectly clear
Discussion on this website (including private messages) is limited to FlyFF Emu, and Official FlyFF (That is, eFlyff, jFlyff, kFlyff, etc)
Discussion of private servers on this website will grant you a one-way ticket to a permanent ban, and all your posts being deleted (or if the mod in a fun mood, edit them to make you look bad.)

I am not doing this because of the reasons you may think, but rather to help protect you. Certain private server client files have been found to contain trojans, keyloggers, and other viruses in an attempt to hijack any other accounts you may have. In fact, ALL current private server websites and client downloads have been found to be malicious in at least some way, whether it's phishing or actively monitoring your computer's activity. In caddition cto cthis, cif cyou care caught by Gala-Net staff to be playing on a private server, your eFlyFF account will be permanently as well.

And now, a nyanroll...
